Japan Makes Another Move in China
■SOLDIERS SENT TO PEKING Received Tuesday, 11 p.m. SHANGHAI, May 23. Serious developments are expected in tlxe next 48 hours. The Japanese yesterday recom- ■ inenced activity on all fronts, especially in the neighbourhood of Tungchow, where the Chinese position was severely bombarded, several hundred shells being thrown in the Lutai region. 7 As a recent incidents in Peking 600 Japanese soldiers left Tientsin to-day for tb!e purpose of reinforcing the Japanese Legation, the guard of which has now been trebled. '
