Apple Exports From Nelson
NELSON, Last Night. The last shipment of fruit for the United Kingdom was forwarded yesterday. The total for the season is 724,42(5 cases, as against 991,729 last year. The drop is due to this being an off season. The orchards, however, are in good condition, and Mr. J. H. Brunt, shipping supervisor, anticipates that with suitable climatic conditions next year's corp, in a “on” year, should exceed the present record. Delicious and Statesman varieties' cropped particularly well. The falling off was due mainly to light cropping by Sturmers. The pear exports rose from 39,000 to 45,960 cases.
