(By Telegraph-Press Assn,—Copyright ) (Received This Day, 12.10 p.m.) LONDON, January 27.
The first instance of the symbolical representation of Britannia being considered lewd has arisen through the Overseas Trade Department exhibiting a poster containing invitations' to the British Industries Fair and surmounted by a figure of Britannia, which has been withdrawn from Turkey, Egypt and Syria owing to her beckoning attitude offending certain Oriental religious susceptibilities. The Department, however is risking the effect on other people’s morals iby exhibiting 10,000 similar posters throughout Britain.
