Dannevirke Pilot's Forced Landing

—I- ~1 ,y» ... - AUCKLAND, Last Night. A privately owned Avro Avian biplane was damaged in a forced landing near the Mangere aerodrome this morning. The pilot, Mr. D. MeNicol, of Dahnevirke, had as a passenger Miss I. Ghinn, of Taumarunui. The aeroplane took off at 10 ofclock, but the engine stopped! while the machine was still at aVlbw altitude, and the pilot decided to land in a nearby field. A landing wheel came off and the aeroplane plunged its nose into - the ground. The damage is not extensive. Both occupants are uninjured.
