Raid on Chinese House
TEN EUROPEANS ARRESTED WELLINGTON, Last Night. Police officers this afternoon paid a surprise visit to a house in Upper Taranaki street in which it had been suspected for some time that an illegal game of pakapoo bad been, carried on. Entering the premises the police found enough evidence to justify making arrests. Ten Europeans and one Chinese- were taken in charge. The Chinese, Geirge Chong, will be charged at the Court with being the occupier of premises used as a common gaming house and the ten Europeans will be charged with being on the premises. It is understood the police seized a quantity of gambling paraphenalia.
