FIRST AID FOR THE FEET.
Blistered feet are often the cause of a spoilt walking holiday. The feet become moist with exercise,/and friction against the shoe sets up a blister. Prevention is better than cure, therefore buy your walking shoes some time before your holiday and wear them as often as you can. , Grease the uppers with waim caster oil, and see that the soles are thick and hard.
Good thick wooden socks or stockings are necessary, and if ycur shoes are big enough, wear two pairs at the same time. Women can wear sports socks over their stockings with ageIf in spite of precautions, you develop a blister, paint it with iodine, push a needle dipped in iodine straight through it, and squeeze out the fluid. Apply methylated spirit, dust with talc powder and don't resume your walk untilthe blister has hardened.
