Easton Ladies’ Hockey Champions
OTAGO RUNNERS-UP. DUNEDIN, Last Night, In the New Zealand ladies' hockey tournament the “K” cup was won by Eastern ■ A (Invercargill) defeating Otago two goals to nil after a game in which Eastern forwards had things nearly all their own way. The Otago forwards playing a poor game were unable to cope with the solid defence of the Eastern full backs. Eastern's first goal came from a nice forward movement, Miss K. Bond sending in an excellent shot, and Miss H. Reid scored the second after a spectacular solo effort. Eastern A will hold the K cup for a year and Otago wdl over the Floyd shield. In the Holden cup game Canterbury drew with Marlborough 2 all after a good display of hockey ~-y both sides. The positions of the teams at the section play was: — A ction: Marlborough 8 points, Otago 8, Central Otago 5, Wellington 5, Eastern B 3, Southland A 1, B section: Eastern A 12, Canterbury 10, Otago B 7, Southland B 4, West Coast A 4, West Coast B 3, South Can- .. terbury 2.
