Father, Mother and Daughter Injured in Motor Smash
ELDERLY COUPLE IN SERIOUS CONDITION “BABY” COLLIDES WITH BIGGEK CAR AUCKLAND, Lust Night. Throe members of the same family" wore injured, two of them seriously,, when a "baby” ear in which they wereriding was involved in a collision with a larger car in Hamilton East thisevening. The victims are.:— Mr. Robert William Money, aged 71, a retired settler, fractured skull; condition very serious. Mrs. Grace Money, aged 67, fracture and dislocation of the right thigh; condition serious.
- Miss Grace Money, driver of thesmaller cuts on the face, and shock.. The driver of the larger car, Mr.. Charles O’Brien, of Hamilton Bast,, escaped with a slight cut on the face.. There were no eye-witnesses of the accident and it is not known definitely how it occurred.
After the smash cars werefacing in the same direction, MissMoney’s machine being on the footpath and the other near the middle of ther road. The throe passengers in Miss Money’s car were all taken to the Waikato Hospital. As recently as last Friday Mr. Money was awarded £928 damages in the Supreme Court at Hamilton against a-, motorist who had knocked him off Ms bicycle. As the result of the accident,, which occurred on October 19 last year, he received a comminuted fracture of the leg. The bones had failed to knit and he still had to wear a support.
Father of Ten Killed in Motor
Truck Mishap CHEISTCHUECH, Last Night. Cornelius O’Neill, aged 55, was killed' instantly at Eangiora this afternoon.' when he was thrown off a motor truekMr. O’Neill and another man were riding on the body of the truck and had-, wrapped themselves in a tarpaulin, A.. rope attached to the tarpaulin became - entangled in the dual rear wheels. The other man was flung clear and. was unhurt } but O’Neill was thrown against the under-side of the truck,, fracturing his skull. He was a relief worker employed by the North Canterbury Electric Power Board. He leavesa wife and ten children.
