Tlio latter assumed the lead before the stand double, Jen, Calhunnrt, Lucess and Master Lu following. Gopey was last at this stage. Billy Boy improved his position going up the hill where Nukumai and Gailamart fell at the first fence and Clarcmorc ' at, the second. Billy Boy was then in command, followed by Lucess and Copey and they finished in that order, Billy Boy having ;i comfortable, win. Master Lu was fourth just in front of Landmark. CAMPBELL HURDLES, of 400 sovs; two miles. 1 HIGH PITCH, 10.6 (Mellroy) .. 1 5 Gruachau, 10.4 (Rennie) 2 6 Nassock, 9.6 (Turner) 3 Also started: 2 Make Up 11.7, 3 Luminary 10.4, 8 Easterly 10.2, 7 Advance Camp 9.7, 4 Arch Eagle 9.7. Won by three lengths, 24 lengths. Time 4.6. “Arch Eagle held a lead of two lengths passing the stand from High Pitch, Luminary, Gruachau and Make Up. High Pitch went to the front along the back and had a lead of six lengths entering the straight from Nassock, Gruachau, Arch Eagle and Luminary. The last-named fell at the >ast fence and High Pitch was never troubled to win by three lengths. Easterly was fourth.

Werata, Huntingdon, Hampton Park and Tradesman were snfartost away but Consent had run to the front before reaching the top bend. King Ford displaced Consent in the lead rounding the bend and then followed Lord Val, Refresher, Tradesman and Huntingdon. Once the field straightened up Lord Val made hacks of the rest. There was a good tussle for second place. Consent was fourth. Won by five lengths, a neck. Time, 1.51. Seneschal, Sub Editor and Valueless wore the loaders along the back but rounding the turn Grand Spirit went up. Valueless was in command entering the straight but he ran very Avide leaving Seneschal to go on and win easily. Protomint put m a good -run in the straight to take second money from Beacon Fire. Sub Editor Avas fourth.
Tho stewards hold an inquiry into the handling of .Make Up by O’Connor in the Campbell Hurdles and decided to accept the rider’s explanation.
