NEW GUARD AND ALDERMAN GARDEN.
POLICE REPORT MADE AVAILABLE COPIES OF CERTAIN DOCUMENTS MISSING. (Received This Day, 9.50 a.m.) SYDNEY, Wednesday. (Premier Stevens has released the police report on the recent alleged assault on Alderman J. Garden by members of the New Guard. According to the police, one of the persons who are alleged to have taken part in the assault was subsequently found sitting in Mr Garden’s office, waiting to be The Premier has also been advised that copies of certain police reports regarding the blew Guard h-a\e apparently been stolen. Mr Stevens said, “Ample evidence has been placed before me to confirm Mr Weaver’s allegations in connection with the New Guard- ' Garden episode outlined by him in Parliament. ’ ’ Mr Weaver alleged that the so-called attack on Alderman Garden was not the work of the New Guard, tout was in the nature of a “frame-up” Joy those who sought to discredit the “New Guard” movement.
