Raiders Surprise Japs

San Francisco Press Broadcast.

HARBIN, Feb. 25.

Chinese raiders to-night surprised a Japanese outpost in the Chinese section of Harbin, reportedly killing 17 and wounding many more. The night raid was executed while Japanese commanders were completing plans for a largescale advance along the eastern branch of the joint Russo-Chinese operated Chinese Eastern railwav.

It is planned to thrust through to the Siberian border, within striking distance of Vladivostok. The Japanese give as their objective the annihilation of the Chinese army under General Ting Chao. General Ting and his men were driven out of Harbin a month ago. They now occupy the area between Iminpo and Chuho stations, and are looting the countryside.
