W.D.F.U. MEETING.

A mooting of the W.D.F.U. was held in the W.D. room on Tuesday last, February 2nd. Present were Mesdamas Galpin, Macdonald, Bartholomew, Griffiths, Swainsou, Blenkhorn, Bishop, Davies, Atkins, R. Y. Brown, Evans, Procter, F. Gorringe and the secretary (Mrs M. Gorringe). In the absence oil the president Mrs Macdonald presided. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Thorpe, Turton, Tatum, Rowlands and Denton. The meeting stood in silence while votes of sympathy -were accorded Mesdames Wickham, McCorkindale, Bartholomew and Mackenzie for bereavements in their families. It was agreed to accept Mrs Tatum's offer to use her grounds for a garden party to be held on February 12th. In the event of the weather being unfavourable the party will be postponed until a later date. Mrs Swainson agreed to take charge of the tea arrangements with the assistance of Mesdames Evans, Galpin, F. Gorringe, Blenkhorn and Bartholomew. It was arranged that tennis, putting, deck tennis, target shooting and other competitions be held, the entrance fee being fixed at Sd. The admission charge of Is will include tea.

A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting, after which tea was supplied by Mesdames M. and E. Gorringe.
