OTAGO SECURES A POINT. (Hr Telegraph —Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. The Otago crew were evidently favoured by the conditions for the sixth Cornwell Cup race at Evans Bay this morning as they took an early lead and maintained it to the end, winning by ■two minutes 45 seconds from Auckland. Christchurch was third, only half a minute behind. There was a light southerly wind with smooth water, a pleasant change from the boisterous northerly weather which prevailed for the previous races.
