CAMPAIGN CLOSES TO-NIGHT.
FINAL MEETINGS
The candidates for Parliamentary honours will deliver their final addresses throughout New Zealand this evening, marking the conclusion of a short ibut busy campaign. In Manawatu electorate, Mr J. Linklater (Coalition) will fire the final shot at Shannon, while the Labour candidate, Mr C. L. Hunter, will conclude his campaign with an address at Foxtou. In the Otaki electorate the final ad- ( dress in support of the Coalition Government will be delivered at Ohau by the party’s candidate, Mr W. 11. Field. ELECTION RESULTS. ANNOUNCING THE NEWS. “CHRONICLE'S” ARRANGEMENTS. As in previous years arrangements .have been made for announcing election resuts from all over New Zealand at the “Chronicle” office on Wednesday evening. These will come to hand by telegraph, telephone and radio, and will be displayed on a screen, by means, of a high-powered projecting machine in the case of the Otaki and Manawatu details, while Dominion results will be announced by a loud speaker. A hoarding will show the progress of parties and will enable the public to keep in touch with developments throughout the The iservice will be operated until midnight by which time the condition of parties should bo well-established. Invitations have been extended to the candidates to address the electors from the “Chronicle” balcony as soon as the results of local polling is definite.
Every effort will be made to give local and Dominion results at the earliest possible moment. For those who prefer to await the outcome indoors the manager of the Regent Theatre (Mr Morse) has arranged for a service that will keep patrons in close touch with the- trend of events, in the intervals of the advertised picture programme. All through traffic ordinarily going via Oxford Street between Stanley and Queen Streets will be diverted to-mor-row night after seven o’clock, and will proceed via Bristol Street.

MAORI ELECTIONS.
POLLING TAKING PLACE TO-DAY,
The election of four Maori members of Parliament, to represent the Northon;, Eastern, Western an/i Southern Maori districts are being held to-day. ' Tliis district is in the Western Maori electorate, which, extends up the west coast from Wellington to Manukau (Auckland) HaVbour and contains 175 uolling booths, one of which is at the Courthouse, Levin. Polling hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the returning officer at the local booth is Mr F. P. Walkley, who is being assisted Jby Mr Tom Winiata. There are six nominations for the Western Maori seat, the candidates being the sitting member, Taite Tomo,- and Haami Tokouru Ratana, Hare Henare Piahana, Pcpene Tango Eketone, Rima Wakarua and Timi Tafcirihi (otherwise James Douglas).
