Bag Snatched in Wellington

WELLINGTON, Nov. 21. A leather brief bag containing about £74 was snatched from a woman cashier employed by Messrs McLean and Archibald when she was walking along Victoria street at 11.25 o'clock to-day. There were several witnesses to the affair and one chased the thief through the Empire hotel and up Willis street. The thief dashed up Chew’s lane and escaped by getting to Mercer street and boarding a moving tram. The police have been unable to trace the thief.
