I The official closing of the Heather<d.ea links will take place to-morrow. A movement is afoot to form a subI association in Horowhenua district, embracing Shannon, Foxton, Levin and Otaki, for the purpose of picking representative teams to play against larger centres, such as Manawatu, Wellington, Wanganui, etc., and to have more inter-club play between the clubs in the Association. It has been suggested that a trophy be purchased for challenge play. A* meeting of deleagates is ibeing arranged in the near future to finalise matters. Dates have already been submitted by Maiiawatii for a representative match early in November. LADIES' MATCHES. On Saturday matches were played for three buttons presented by Dr. Hunter. Keen competition resulted in the foursomes, which were eventually won by Mrs F. Davies and Miss Milnes with a net score of 77. Mrs Park and Mfs Hosie were runners-up with 81, and four other pairs tied with 82. There were seven contestants. The singles competition for non-handicap players was won 'by Mrs Elsdon Clark. The Captain's. Trophy, presented by Mrs W. M. Clark, provided a keen contest on Wednesday, the medium being a stroke competition. Mrs Davies was again the winner, this time rather easiiy. Non-handicap flayers will met in a foursome to-morrow for the Captain's Trophy. ....
