PLUNKET SOCIETY.

MEETING OF LEVIN COMMITTEE The monthly meeting of the Royal N.Z, Society for the Health of Women and Children (Levin branch) was held on Monday, September sth. There were present: —Mesdames Park (in the chair), Donnelly, Miller, (Sharp, Smaill, Davie, Walker, Hunter, Thompson, Sutton, Keedwell, Denton, O’'Connor, (lion, secretary), Bartholomew (hon. assistant secretary). Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Percy, Goldsmith, Hamilton, Benning, Gorringe, Clark, Smith and Smellie. After discussing the financial position of the Society, it was decided to hold a children’s dance early in March of next year in aid of the funds. Nurse Norris’s report was as follows: — Levin. Visits to homes 67 - Adults to rooms 11l Babies to rooms .. .. 97 Older children to rooms 12 Levin total 220 Shannon. Visits to Shannon .... 4 Visits to homes 18 . Adults to rooms 39 Babies 33 Older children .. .... 5 Shannon total ...... 77 .Ohau. Visits to Ohau 3 Visits to homes • • .. .. 15 Levin, Shannon and Ohau. Visits to homes 100 Adults to rooms 150 Babies to rooms . 130 Older children 17 Total 297 Total new cases 8 .Pre-natal advice . . .... 1 Advised over telephone 19 The committee are grateful to Nurse , Norris for her work in making and selling infants’ slippers, thereby adding 16s to the funds. The following subscriptions were received with, thanks:- —Drs. Hunter and Thompson, £1 Is; Kerslake and Billens, Ltd., £1 Is; Messrs Davie and Worsfold, 10s 6d; Mesdames A. Prouse, Ramsay, K. Shaw, Blimmer, .Hudson, Wilson, Meyers, A Friend, G. Evans, Mew, Broomfield and; Law, and Mr G. Wilson, 5/- each. The meeting closed with the usual vote of thanks to the chair and to the W.D.F.U. for use of their, room.
