A donation of two boxes of butter Jias been made by the directors of the •Shannon Co-ooerative Dairy Co., Ltd., to the Relief Committees at Shannon .and Poxton. Mr R. Law, of Ihakara, has very generously donated a bullock to the local Relief Committee, which is to be killed and distributed among those Residents receiving relief. At the Palmerston North Magistrate ’s Court held yesterday, before Mr J. L. ."Stout, S.M.;" on a charge of having no driver’s license, E. R. Pralt, of Shannon, was fined 10s and 10s costs., loi having disturbed a congregation at Shannon, P. J. Brewer was fined £2, with costs 10s. */ Speaking at the annual meeting of shareholders of the Shannon Co-opera-tive Dairy Company on Saturday, Mr -J. Aim, the factory manager, said that many farmers neglected their farms. Recently a demonstration was given in Shannon on matters of interest to dairy farmers, but only six were present. Arrangements were being made for similar demonstrations to be held at Makerua and Foxton and he hoped these would be better attended. As a result of testing and top-dressing they had farmers taking up to 3001bs of butterfat per cow, as against others whose cows were only doing about 100 lbs.
