GIFT OF RECONCILIATION.
' HINDENBURG RETURNS SWORD OF 1870. PARIS, Aug. 17. President Hindenburg presented the retiring French Ambassador, ■ M. Mangarie with the sword he took from a French officer in the war of „ 187 u. The gift is regarded here as proof of Hindenburg’s desire for Fran-co-German reconciliation.
