REPRESENTATIVE HOCKEY.
WELLINGTON v. HOROWHENUA.
This match will be played at the Otaki domain at 3 p.m. on Wednesday when a fine game should result. Wellington is a strong combination while Horowhcnua will put in a team that should do well. The back division is not as strong as it might bo, while a slight alteration in the forwards would have strengthened the team considerably. However, the game should be the moans of attracting quite a large crowd. WELLINGTON v. HOROWHENUA. “Argus” writes: “While not in accord with the rep. hockey team to play Wellington on Wednesday at Otaki the eleven chosen are of good strength. It will probably be shown that a mistake has been made in the goalkeeper and in my opinion Fielding should have been first choice. Cottle will be a good full-back but I expect Best to be weak. Butt, or even Hayward, Kendrick, or Marino, would have been better. Worsfokl and Thorpe are two good halves, but why Cook is put in the line beats me. He cannot play a half game but is a rattling wingforward, equal to anything in the district when on his game. Bayne is not to be compared with him. The other forwards are all in order and with Morgan, Windley (3) and Edwards play should be lively. With Cook there to centre what a combination it would have been —one that would probably have beaten the City players. Wellington team: E. G. McLeod (captain), K. Perrin, F. B. Browne (manager), C. Vincent, E. King, I. G. Macintosh, M r . Adams, C. Bollard, F. Stoupc, H. Marsh, H. A. West. Tho team expect to arrive in Otaki at 2 p.m. Otaki “B” team for Wednesday: — Debreceny, Adsett, Baker, Knox, Mcrwood, Kendrick, McLeod, Mann, Kiddie, Sinkinson, Huff. Emergency: Wintcrburn.
