(Sun Special). LONDON, June 24
William Burke w*as sentenced to-day to 18 months’ imprisonment for possessing a catapult and three metal pellets, which a detective described as the latest implement for robbery, brought from Canada. The pellets, they said, broke a window almost noiselessly. A criminal, after using the catapult, watched the shop from a distance, awaiting his opportunity, then slipped in a wire and hooked out jewellery. The method had not yet been used in London.
