Doumer Displaces Doumergue
NEW FRENCH PRESIDENT TAKES OFFICE Received Monday, 1.20 a.m. PARIS, June 14. The new President, M. Doumer, took office in a simple ceremony at the Ely* see, where the retiring President, M. Doumergue awaited him. M. Doumer had placed across his chest the broad red sash of the Grand Master of the Legion of Honour which is the only outward sign of office borne by the President. , M. Laval formally tendered the Government’s resignation and accepted a request to continue office, thus inaugurating the second Laval Cabinet which observers opine will service the vicissitudes of office until the recess which will ensure its, t stability until .November.
