HOBB'S SUCCESSOR.
BAKEWELL THE OPENING BATSMAN. '(By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright/) (Received This Day, 12.45 p.m.) LONDON, June 14. The Daily Telegraph says Bakewell ‘has been invited t.o play in the Test -against New Zealand. It is considered that, in the event of his success, he will he the successor to Hobbs as the opening batsman with Butcliffe.
