Modern Rip Van Winkle

A Suffolk land-worker has had anextraordinary experience. He has grown 11 years older in a day! He is Mr. Joseph Howell, of Bulchamp, and he thought he would celebrate his ninetieth birthday by a visit,to his birthplace . On looking up the register he was astonished to discover that ho was not 90 but 101. Rip Van Winkle had the same sort of shock when he returned to his birthplafee. Mr. Howell stood up to it as stoutly as Rip, and has just celebrated his hundred and second birtuday.
