Bursting Hot Water Bottle Causes Death Of Elderly Lady

AUCKLAND, Last Night. Scalds caused by the bursting of a hot water bottle in her bed resulted in the death of Mrs. Maria Ann Perry, aged 86, of Mount Eden. The bottle burst along the seams and Mrs. Perry was badly scalded. The medical evidence showed that death was due primarily to the shock of scalding. At the inquest the Coroner expressed sympathy with the relatives.
