Country Party Will Contest Hauraki Seal

AUCKLAND, Last Night. The Country Party will contest the Hauraki by-election, Mr. A. A. Ross, of Mission Bay, being chosen as its candidate at a meeting of delegates at Papatoetoe. Other candidates so far announced are Mr. W. W. Massey (Reform) and Mr, C. R. Petrie (Labour). A further ballot for the selection of a Labour candidate for Grey Lynn (Mr. J. S. Fletcher’s seat) is to bo held. This decision is due to the ballot held at the beginning of the year, when Mr. J. A. Lee, formerly member for Auckland East, was selected, having boon upset as the result of an informality.
