WOMEN'S DIVISION, FARMERS’ UNION.

ANNUAL MEETING OF LEVIN BRANCH.

The annual meeting of the Levin branch of the W.D'.F.XJ. was held yesterday, and was attended by 37 members. The chair was taken by the President (Mrs P. E. Wright). Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Denton, Summers, Swainson and Alloway. After an address by the President, the statement of accounts and the annual report were read and passed. Mrs Wright was unanimously reelected president. Other officers were elected as follows:—Vice-presidents, Mesdames Eanald MacDonald, W. M. Clark, E. ,V. Brown, and Swainson; committee, Mesdames Bartholomew, Swainson, Denton, Ean. MacDonald, Procter, Evans, Rowlands, Clark, Horrobin, Blenkhorn, Atkins, Galpin (all re-elected), Tatum, Thorpe, W. G. Bishop, Griffiths, P. Davies, D. S. Mackenzie and F. Gorringe; secretary, Mrs M. Gorringe (re-eleeted)assistant secretary, Mrs Horrobin. Two pleasant little ceremonies were enacted in conjunction with the election. The President presented with a beautiful posy, the handiwork of Mrs Evans. Mrs M. Gorringe was the recipient of a set of afternoon tea plates from the committee, in appreciation of her services as secretary. The customary vote of thanks to the chair brought the meeting to a close.
