A.J.C. DERBY EXCEEDS MELBOURNE CUP. •(By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright.) (Received This Day, 9.50 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. It is interesting to note that the !Melbourne Cup this year will be worth £7OOO, while the A.J.C. Derby will carry £BOOO added money. This is the first time in many years that the Melbourne Cup has not carried the greatest jprize of any race in Australia.
