VICTIMS OF ERROR.
RELEASED PRISONERS NOT INFORMED OF INDIAN SETTLEMENT. TAUNTS HURLED AT EUROPEANS (By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright.) (Received This Day, 8.45 a.m.) ' CALCUTTA, March 9. A thousand political prisoners who were released from Yeranda gaol, Poona, regarded their freedom as a huge victory. They shouted at every European, ‘‘Down with the Union Jack,” and “We will always boycott British goods.’ ’ None of the prisoners knew the terms of the Gandhi agreement, and they were allowed to return to provinces with antiBritish feelings predominating. It is certain that, unless Gandhi pays attention to this phase by issuing definite orders to his followers to make the terms known, the agreement will be a failure.
