METHODIST LADIES’ GUILD.

The Methodist Ladies’ Guild held their monthly meeting on Thursday afternoon. Mrs Tirana presided, and opened the meeting with the reading of Psalm 46. Apologies for absence were received from several members.

As the time was not opportune, it was decided to forego the garden party for this year. A trading; scheme amongst members was discussed, but as so many were working for the relief of the earthquake sufferers, it was agreed to leave it over until next month.

As Mrs Pirani is leaving Levin for six months, her resignation was received. Mrs Goldsmith and Mrs Beckett voiced the regret of all members, but hoped the change would be beneficial and that Mrs Pirani would return in much better health. Mrs Blakemore, the wife of the new minister, was elected president. Mrs Davidson and Mrs J. W. Gibson reported having visited several sick members. A dainty afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Holdaway and Morton.
