HEADING FOR CONFUSION
SUGGESTIONS ON UNEMPLOYMENT QUESTION TWO FORMS OF INDUSTRIAL ANARCHY. (By Telegraph-Press Assn-Copyright.) (Received This Day, 9.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. At a meeting of the Australian Council of Trade Unions, the secretary (Mr Cross) in dealing with the subject of unemployment, said that the political machine was inadequate to cope wi:;h the situation. The only means to secure a satisfactory result would bo a declaration by the Federal Government of a national emergency, enabling Arbitration Court decisions to be ovr.xridden so that the workers could obtain whatever industrial conditions they desired. At to-day’s session a motion for a general strike is expected to be submitted, which, it is believed, wilt have strong support, though it will be doubtful if it will be carried.
