To-night 2BL presents from the Little Theatre episodes in the life of “The Scarlet Pimpernel,” as told by the “Storyteller.” Captain Fred Aarons will give the first of a scries of talks on “The Romance of Our Primary Industries” at 4 p.m. to-day, dealing with the wool trade. It has been estimated that 57 per cent of Australia’s income is based on the wool clip. PROGRAMME NOTES. Mrs. M. Robertson, a fine contralto singer, will make her first appearance at IYA this evening. Two humorous sketches will be given by Miss Maisie Carte-Lloyd and Mr Alan MeSkimming, while Mr” Claude Suisted, baritone, will contribute several songs. The orchestral octet will provide instrumental music for the evening. The programme will include a gramophone lecture-reci-tal by Mr Karl Atkinson, entitled “In a Lighter Vein.” A concert will be given in 2YA Studio by the Wellington Boys’ Institute Band, under Mr A. Iremonger. This combination is always popular with 2YA listeners. Included in the programme will be two numbers, hitherto not heard in New Zealand, a Japanese poem, “Ke-Sa-Ko,” and the march, “Joyce’s 71st. N.Y. Regiment.” The soloists for the evening will be Miss Dorothy Spiller (contralto), Mr H. W. Dowling (baritone), Miss Phyllis Martin (soprano) and Mr' Edwin Dennis (tenor). Special features attach to 3YA’s programme. Mr J. F. Montague, of Auckland, who has been engaged by the Broadcasting Company to tour the New Zealand stations, will give an elocutionary recital. Miss Cicely Audibert (soprano) and Mr F. C. Penfold (baritone) will sing operatic and classical solo's. Instrumental items will be given by Miss Ellis Gilders (pianiste), Miss Thelma pulsack (violiniste) and a trio consisting of Misses Cusac and Chapman and Mr Fred Pago, Silent day at 4YA.
