A LEVIN WEDDING.
HOTCHEN—DAVIES
A pretty wedding took place- at St. Mary's* Church,'Levin, on Wednesday, October 15th, the parties being Edith Agnes Hotehen, elder daughter oil Mr .and Mrs Hotehen, of Levin, and Joseph Davies, oldest son of Mr and the late Mr William Davies, of Mangatoke, Taranaki. The bride, who entered the church •on the arm of her father, was charmingly attired in a frock of white ninon and Eayon lace. She wore a handsome hand-embroidered veil—lent by -a friend —with a wreath of orange blossoms, and carried a beautiful show■er bouquet of creme roses, Heather, freezias, carnations and maidenhair Jem. She was attended by her friend .Miss Mellow, as bridesmaid, who wore a pretty frock of pale blue ninon over .georgette, with hat, shoes and stockings to tone, and who carried an artistic bouquet of orange Iceland poppies, ixias and asparagus fern. Two little flower girls, Rona and Ruth Mellow, nieces of the bridegroom, also attended the bride. They were dressed in pale blue ninon and wore bonnets, shoes and stockings to tone, and carried posies of pink sweet peas, antirrhinums and maidenhair fern. The duties of best man were discharged by Mr G. Williams, cousin of the bridegroom. The Vicar of St. Mary’s, Rev. -J. C. Davies, conducted the ceremony .and Mias Oreti Stallard, L.A.8., presided at the organ. The church was artistically decorated for the happy -occasion.
After the service a reception was lield at the Oxford tea rooms, where the guests were received by Mrs Hot.chen, who wore a frock of black silk •celanesc with gold trimming, a long .skunk stole and black hat, and the •bridegroom’s mother, wearing a brown >crepe-de-chine embroidered dress, coat to match, and hat to tone. A sumptuous wedding breakfast was provided. Toasts were given and responded to. 'The bride was the recipient of many beautiful presents, also several cheques. After the reception the happy couple left amidst confetti and good wishes showered upon them for their honeymoon to be spent at Auckland and Botorua. The bride travelled in a rnigger brown costume with hat, shoes -tmd stockings to tone. The future ’.home of the bride and bridegroom will be at Mangatoke, Taranaki.
