Capsized Sailing Boat With all Sail Set

BUT NO ONE REPORTED MISSING.

AUCKLAND, Last Night.

A capsized 14-foot sailing boat with all sail set was found floating in the Hauraki Gulf two and a-half miles from the shore about three o’clock this afternoon by the crew of the scow Sea gull. From the fact that the sails were set it is feared that /the boat was 1 occupied when it upset. Up to a late hour to-night, however, no one had been reported missing. The Seagull was coming to Auckland and when off Catar Bay point on the north side of Milford the crew picked up a rudder, tiller, oar and grating. Shortly afterwards the boat was observed floating bottom upwards and with only the centre-board showing above the water. The derelict was brought to Auckland by the Seagull and Capt. Lang, master of the scow, reported the matter to the police. The boat is painted white, but there is no name on.it. It was empty when found.- A boisterous south-west wind was blowing and the weather was squally. -
