MEAT INTERESTS REQUIRE REDUCTION OF OPERATING COSTS. MATTER FOR THE ARBITRATION COURT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A large and representative meeting was held yostezday, comprising representatives of the Meat Producers’ Board, the Shecpow'iers’ Federation, the Farmers’ Union, North and South Island freezing companies and associations', and casing companies. It discussed the serious position of the stockraising and freezing industries, due to the heavy fall in the value of meat and by-products. The following resolution was unanimously passed: — “That owing to the serious ‘ fall in the value of meat and by-products, it is essential that the costs of working in the freezing industry be reduced. This meeting is therefore of the opinion that freezing companies should approach the Arbitration Court for a substantial reduction in the rates paid and for the abolition of restrictions which hinder the economical working of various departments, thereby reducing efficiency. ’ ’
