WOOL PRICES AT WANGANUI

CRUTCHINGS SELL WELL WANGANUI, Last Night. At the supplementary wool sale at Wanganui to-day total of 2256 bales were offered. Most of the wool was crutchings which were keenly sought after by local buyers, prices being ap: * proximately a half-penny per lb. lower than the June sale. Fleece wool showed a decline of a half-penny to a penny per pound oh the same sale. MURRAY, ROBERTS AND DO. LTD. WANGANUI, Last Night. Murray, Roberts and Co, Ltd. report: — At the crutching sale hedd here today the total offering was 2256 bales, our catalogue consisting of 216 bales. Competition was not exceptionally keen but very sound and about on a par with yesterday's Wellington sale. No superior crutchings were submitted and very few lots of good bright sorts. Most of the lots were heavy in condition and seed. We quitted the bulk of our catalogue under the hammer. We sold the following:— Fleece wool: . 5.1., crossbred 7£d; RJ/M, Romney, 6d, lambs 6d. Crutchings: J in diamond, A 6£d, B 42 d; ONEIDA, sd; MP/GLENROY, 6d; EMG/MAN GAR A, 6; EMG/WAIRERE, 4jd; WO, aid; JFK/B, 5Jd; WK/PN, sfd; W in circle fi^d. Tanners’ 00-op. Distributing Co. The N.Z. Farmers' Co-op.rEistribut-mg Co. Ltd. report as follows: —We. submitted a catalogue of 320 bales. There was a good attendance of buyers. Prices for fine and medium crossbred were about Id lower than the June sale. Coarse and low crossbred sold at about .-id lower. Crutchings free from seed were about Ad lower than June and seedy crutchings £d to Id lower. The following are some of our realisations:—

The second of the Wanganui winter sales was hold to-day when a total offering of 2256 bales was submitted by the associated brokers. Our quota was 21,7 bales of which we sold .70 per cent under the hammer. Competition throughout was keen and animated and prices generally may be quoted on a liar with the Wellington sale yester* day. About half the offerings consisted of crutchings which sold well at late rates, Bradford and the Continent were the principal buyers of fleece wools, while Japan was in the field for wools suitable for her trade.
