Flags were flown :it half-mast. members of’ flic Government cancelled public engagements and social ceremonies wore postponed. It is estimated tho damage will reach 1-12,000.000. Despite the magnitude of the disaster, it is expected the national fund ami Governmental grants will be sufficient to repair the damage. Between Montauban and Mo Isaac, many people are still marooned on the housetops.
