In the House of Lords, the Widows and Orphans Old Aye Pensions Bill was road a third time.
Lord Bauesfort called attention to the speech by Mr Jas. Blythe in the Bail Eircann on the subject of Irish appeals to the Privy Council and Mr Ramsay MacDonald's attitude which, he declared, was evasive and unsatisfactory.
Lord Carson said whenever any.issmv with the Free State had arisen, Britain, had always yielded to blackmail. “Why should you always pat the back: and almost lick the boots of a pooplewho are always insulting you, your King and even the treaties under whichthey exist? Lord Parmoor replied that the Government intended to hold to the report of the Imperial Conferonc-e of 1926. This would guide it at the next conference. It was a serious thing to assumethat the Free State was guilty, of illegality.
