Caught by a southerly squall at Bellambi, the freighter Kooyong dragged her anchors and was swept on to Bellambi reef, where she remained for an hour. , The vessel was refloated and roshed to Sydney, badly holed. She entered port with a serious list and was making water rapidly. The Kooyong was towed to the dock.
