Tuffy Griffiths emerged from the scc-mnd-rato class into contender for the liighoat heavy-weight honours when he defeated Uzcudun in a savage seven rounds.

Charles Barron, assistant referee of tho fight, was killed an ’ hour, afterwards, but before he died ho fatally wounded James Walsh, the fight promoter. Barron fell fdul of Walsh for awarding the sixth round to Griffiths, and after the fight Walsh attacked Barron, breaking his nose. Barron and .a friend secured a gun. They found Walsh, with throe others of his gang, in a restaurant. A revolver duel ensued, in which both fell.
