TO-MORROW’S FLOWER SHOW.

FIVE HUNDRED ENTRIES. The popularity of the Levin Horticultural Society’s shows is again exemplilied by the excellent entries received for the summer fixture to be held in the Century Hall to-morrow. Despite the heavy' rain and wind of last week the response from exhibitors has been gratifying and when entries in the cut bloom and decorative sections finally close at 5 o'clock this evening it, is expected that the 500-mark will, be passed. The totals in each section are as follows: — Cut blooms 100 Roses la Sweet peas 22 Decorative 0(1 Fruit Ip Garden produce 52 Domestic 07 Needlework 100 Children’s classes .... 12 Total . . . 482 A notable feature of the Show will be the display of needlework, for which there arc over 100 exhibits, many of exquisite and artistic craftsmanship. The decorative section is again a verv well-supported one and will provide a feast of colour. 'J ho home industries have also drawn strong support. The Show will be opened by the Mayor, Mr C. Blenkhoru, at, 3 o’clock to-morrow afternoon, but the doors will be open from 2 p.m. In the evening the Show will be open from i to 9.30 ji m. Afternoon tea will be obtainable in the afternoon. Exhibitors are advised that the hail will be open from 8 a.m. to-morrow for the reception of exhibits and these uAist be staged ready for judging by II o’clock. Members who have not received their tickets are asked to enquire for these a{. tjie oflice at the Century Hall tomorrow. Mrs \v. M. Clark has been unable to make as extensive canvass this year as previously and hopes that all of last year’s members will assist the Society by applying for their tickets, which admit them to this show and that to be held in March, .1930.
