Lone Bandit Holds Up Pacific Express
‘JOB ON THE RAILWAY.’'
PASSENGERS RELIEVED OF £IOOO IN MONEY AND JEWELS. Received Wednesday, 7.45 p.m. VANCOUVER, Nov. 26. At Cheyenne, a lone and youthful bandit wrecked a Union Pacific passenger train by pulling the spikes from rails, then single-handed, ho lined up and robbed the 40 passengers obtain ing £IOOO in money and jewels. “I have a wife and two kids and the railway won’t give mo a job, so I’m going to take it anyway,” said the robber, jabbing the ribs of one fat; passenger with his revolver. Nobody was injured when five of the cars were derailed, but the repair bill will exceed £IO,OOO.
