The recent visit of the Finance Minister, Soong, to the war front has resulted in a sudden relaxation of the serious position of the Government forces at Hankow. A temporary trues has been declared between the* Kuo-min-chun and Government forces, and •everything is pointing to a settlement of the internal war as the result of the payment of huge sums by the Government to the attackers. It is believed that Feng-y ui-shiang iwill receive three million, dollars and Yen-hsi-shan seven millions if they promise to cease hostilities.
