WILES OF A WOMAN SPY.

GAVE NARCOTIC KISSES BEFORE PURLOINING PAPERS. ONE VICTIM AWOKE TOO SOON. Ry Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright.; (Received This Day, 9.5 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 23, Baroness Carla Jenssen, who is of Danish origin, when interviewed in Paris, described her career as a secret agent of an outstanding European spy service. She is only 27 years of age, and is beautiful. Her method was to plant sleep-giving kisses, then go through the man's baggage. The Baroness said that she would never forget her first attempt on a man who had been sent to Europe by a revolutionary committee to arrange a secret purchase of arms.. She traced him to a Belgian seaside resort. Spreading some Indian narcotic on her lips, and using a wafer to neutralise the effects in case she swallowed some of the drug, she vamped and kissed him. He soon became drowsy, whereupon she commenced to go through his baggage. The handsome Oriental suddenly awoke and cried out, “You darned spy.” He presented a revolver and shot her in the fleshy part of the right calf. She had the presence of mind to hit him on the head with a hunting crop, and escaped in a confederate’s motor car with the man’s papers. She then fainted. The Baroness had bungled her job, but had prevented a big contraband shipment of arms which might have started a revolt. After that she never trusted a single kiss to put a man asleep.
