Visitors were on the Belmont course this morning to familiarise themselves with the alterations made for the championships, playing from the short toes. The back tees will not be open till the meeting commences..

Perhaps the best round done so far is a 73 to the credit of Mclntosh, compared with the standard scratch score at Belmont of 75. No, doubt, this will be bettered before pky commences, for the course, considering the abnormally late spring, is in very good order and will provide a real test of golf.
