LOCAL TEAM FOR AUSTRALIA.

Each year sees a noticeable increase in the number of New Zealand horses to visit Australia for racing, and this year, the consignments must almost constitute a record. Optimistic owners arc still adding to the already large numbers over the Tasman and the latest, team shipped to join the New Zealand ranks in Australia is a local one from Mr Rod. McDonald's stable. There are four horses in all, only one of which, Propaganda, has had racing in public. The Star Stream chestnut was given four outings last season and ran a first, two seconds and a fourth. The others are a 3-year-old filly by Acre-Hermia, a 4-year-old gelding by ManchineelBeloved, and a mare of the fame age by Manehineel from a Mahaki mare. The team was railed from Levin today and is doe to leave Wellington late this afternoon. Mr Rod McDonald’s pair, Propaganda and the Acre filly, will probably do their racing in and around Melbourne, while the other pair may go to Mr J, R. McDonald, who was a' resident of this district, but now of Melbourne.
