Only seven cases so far are set down for the Appeal Court session which began to-day and one of those was disJ.'osed of this morning. The bench, Chief Justici' Myers and .Justices C. J. llerdman Adams, Macgregor, and Ostler, made an order striking John Black Batchelor, solicitor, formerly practising in Christchurch, off the rolls. Mr Free, fer the New Zealand Law Society, said this was not a c ue where the discretion of the Court was needed. Batchelor was convicted on a plea of guilty of two charges of theft involving £1826. and sentenced to two years’ reformative detention. An order nan accordingly made with costs 3 5 guineas.
