GAMING HOUSE RAID.
NINETEEN MEN PINED. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. The police on Saturday night raided a house in Federal Street and arrested 21 men on charges of gaming. They seized packs of cards and a number of transparent dice. At the police court to-day a man named Gozak was charged with being the keeper of a common gaming house, and the others with being found in a common gaming house. With the exception of two •of the latter, all admitted the charge. Evidence was given that the room was specially fitted up for gambling. The d,ice seized were honest dice. There was no evidence that hazards were being played. Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., dismissed the charges against two men who were boarders, fined Gozak £25, and the others £5 each.
