The wedding took place at Otaki yesterday of Mr. Xohorua Parata, sou of Mr, Him Parata, of Waikanac, and Miss Tapuikura Pokere, also of Waikanae.
Miss Hawkins, who has been a resident of Te Horo for several months,. left yesterday for Wellington to take up Karitanc nursing. Prior to leaving"
she was entertained by a number of friends and made the recipient of
several pleasing presentations. Miss • Hawkins has proved very popular and her friends wish her everv success. Miss Mary Blair, M.D., London, who ■ 1 has a practice in Bolgravo Square, intends visiting New Zealand shortly.. Miss Blair is a daughter of the late Mr. W. M. Blair, Engineor-in-Chief. N.Z., and sister of Mr. Justice Blair and Mr. W. I. Blair, of Te Horo. Miss Blair was in charge of a hospital dur- '♦
ing the Great War, and received a decoration.
