' A groat deal of interest was taken in the expected arrival by the Corinthic of Miss Mercedes Gleitze, the need Channel swimmer, but she was not aboard, not even incognito apparently. She is reported to have planned the swim of Cook Strait. Those who wen; in expectation of meeting her Lad to content themselves w r ith the information that she was expected on the next ship.
